Of particular interest (though unfortunately still relatively unknown), is the use of bamboo charcoal.
Charcoal is commonly used as a filtration and cleansing medium. Bamboo charcoal has UP TO 10 TIMES the absorption and filtration power of conventional charcoals. This enables sachets of bamboo charcoal to have an amazing capacity to absorb odours and other impurities. Bamboo charcoal thus also has very beneficial antibacterial qualities. Modern techniques are enabling bamboo charcoal to be impregnated into fabrics and items (wash-safe !) with exciting benefits:
