The style, charm and quality of solid bamboo flooring
Ancient and natural, bamboo has been a symbol of elegance, taste and good luck in Asia from time immemorial. Clear, dense and hard, with a classical texture and elegant lustre, bamboo flooring has become popular worldwide as flooring of choice for the home and office. A product of sustainable forestry, assembled with non-toxic glues from Germany and coated with highly abrasion resistant finishes, also from Germany, Regular Solid Laminated flooring is the ideal green product. Not only is our flooring a clean, safe product of sustainable forestry, it is tough, termite- and fire-resistant. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer, this product makes a tough, beautiful and easy to clean floor you can keep – and will WANT to keep – as long as you own your home.
Two types of Regular Solid Laminated bamboo flooring are available, “Horizontal” and “Vertical”, and each type is available in two tones, “Natural” or “Coffee”.
“Horizontal” and “Vertical” refer to the manner in which the boards are manufactured. “Horizontal” shows the nodal nature and smooth fibre of the bamboo, while “Vertical” has a more even look. We, at Bamboo Refined, stock only the “Horizontal”, but will source the “Vertical” for customers who desire it at the same price.
“Natural Horizontal” is a very light colour, (rather like fresh pine flooring – but with the hardness and quality of bamboo!). This flooring is an excellent choice for rooms or areas where brightness and lightness are desired.
“Coffee Horizontal”, as the name indicates, has a more subdued lustre. The different tones are NOT achieved with stains. The darker “Coffee” is achieved by darkening the bamboo in kilns, with heat, before the boards are made. All of our bamboo floors are consistent throughout the whole thickness of the floor and could be sanded back and re-coated many times – over generations, perhaps?

Regular Horizontal bamboo flooring is supplied as boards 1900mm long by 96mm wide, with interlocking tongue and groove edges on sides and ends. The thickness of the floor is 15mm. The floors are relatively easy to install, usually over underlay, onto any suitable subfloor or concrete.
Regular Solid Laminated bamboo flooring is a very affordable, high quality, permanent, stylish choice for the discerning builder or home owner. As with all of our bamboo flooring, it is factory pre-finished and needs no further attention after laying, thus saving the usual cost for natural flooring of sanding, polishing and coating. The factory finish has been achieved by curing under ultraviolet light, which makes it more wear resistant than any finish which can normally be produced in situ.
